Stay Connected
Once a Fighting Illini, always a Fighting Illini. Alumni remain one of the battalion’s greatest assets — your experience, perspective, and presence shape the next generation of Army officers. Here’s how to stay involved.
Alumni Mentor
Our MS-IV Cadets receive their component and branch assignments each fall — and your experience is exactly what they need as they prepare for the transition into the Army. Volunteer to mentor a cadet one-on-one and share the lessons you’ve learned firsthand.
Guest Speaker
Each year, alumni return to speak to Military Science classes about their time in service. If you’d like to address current cadets — on any topic, from your branch to leadership to combat deployments — reach out with your availability and we’ll coordinate the rest.
Veterans Day Football Game
Every year, the Fighting Illini Battalion conducts a Loyalty Oath Ceremony during the Salute to Veterans Football Game at the University of Illinois. New contracted cadets take their oath before the crowd — come back and be part of it.
